THE GOSHEN MANDATE

Being prepared is a Biblical concept that is mirrored in both the Old Testament and the New Testament. The blueprint for assessing, preparing, surviving, and rebuilding is laid out in scripture with consistent priority of events. There is no new thing under the sun (Ecclesiastes 1:9). Even the governments and systems of the world run according to God’s principles and architecture.

There are many useful practices that have been established with first responders, disaster relief and even military protocols for hard and difficult times. Using those basic concepts, strategies and tactics, we can couple those assets with the supernatural work of the Holy Spirit to gain exceptional results! As the Ekklesia, we have that advantage over the world systems as we rely on God to provision next-level rulership and empowerment per the original dominion mandate given to Adam in Genesis 1:28. Rulership and governance is the responsibility of the Ekklesia, not only in good times, but in hard times as well. In Acts 11:28, the Church was warned and ready when disaster struck, and they were able to not only survive, but thrive in hard times.

What is divine priority? God illustrates priority in scripture and demonstrates the order in which action plans are implemented. If we maintain God's priority, we will be kept in perfect peace, remain safe, thrive, and prosper even if others around us are perishing. The three provisions of God that guarantee success in hard times is love, power, and a sound mind. If fear is present, things will go badly.

God has extended mercy and grace for decades, and now we are approaching the end to some of that mercy and grace that we’ve all benefited from in the past. Things are shifting and the shaking will intensify over time. These are the hard times we are referring to. Let’s avoid categorizing these times to fit eschatology, theology, end-time prophecy, or any other agenda. These discussions can waste precious time, drain us of mental strength, and create unnecessary division. Above all, no one is authorized to put a date on the rapture, the tribulation, the great tribulation, or the day of the Lord. The scripture did say to occupy until Christ returns. That is to remain the primary focus of our Goshen conversations.

FACTS & DATA

Fact: We have been given the Holy Spirit to lead us into ALL truth as our governor and spiritual guide here on earth, until the end. (John 16:13) If we pray, listen, and obey, we will be in sync with the Father’s timing, purposes and agenda, whatever they may be. Arguing over eschatology and timeline are fruitless and irresponsible.

Fact: There are numerous repeating patterns in in scripture regarding readiness and preparedness:

  • The prudent see danger and take refuge, but the simple keep going and suffer. (Proverbs 22:3)

  • Go to the ant and observe how they store up for winter. (Proverbs 6:6-11)

  • Watch and pray. (Mathew 26:41)

  • Be sober and vigilant. (1 Peter 5:8)

  • Be wise and seek council. (Proverbs 1:5, Proverbs 12:15)

  • Take advice and heed instruction.

Fact: By the testimony of hundreds of His people, God has revealed that we are to prepare for some tough times. Scripture says God does nothing, but that He tells His prophets FIRST. (Amos 3:7)

The duration of these hard times varies by region and geographical location, but the consensus of the prophetic community is that it will last from 3 months to a year, depending on the region, level of severity, population, and overall impact. The most common scenario indicates that we store up for 6 months, but be led by the Spirit unto how this may apply to you.

BIBLICAL PRIORITY

Let’s look at Biblical priority regarding what we are do do first:

  1. We are first responsible for our families as they are who God commands us to protect and nourish. Planning for others (including ministry) before we have resolved the plan for our family is not Biblical. (1 Timothy 5:8)

  2. Next, we are to extend planning and resources to those who depend on us to lead, guide, provide, and protect them (physically and/or spiritually). This scripturally is defined as your sphere of authority, and those within that sphere are scripturally considered your “Flock”. (Isa 40:11)

  3. If there are other spheres you can assist after that, do so as led by the Spirit.

LEARNING TO ASSESS

Biblically, the first step to any phase or project starts with an assessment. Each subsequent phase also requires an assessment in order to advance with accuracy, efficiency, and relevancy. If we fail to maintain Biblical priority, we will experience anxiety, fear, failure and loss. Getting ahead of ourselves will cause unwarranted confusion, create unnecessary stress, and consume resources. As time progresses, we can evaluate and assess how to navigate forward and utilize the resources available to proceed. We must recognize and acknowledge that the landscape of our reality will change (drastically in some cases) making it impossible to predict long-term solutions beforehand, so let’s focus on one step at a time.

  • In Genesis 9:12, BEFORE the flooding or the ark, God assesses the situation and creates an action plan based on the current situation.

  • Genesis 11:5, God comes down to examine the situation BEFORE He implemented the disruption of Babel in verse 7 and 8.

In the timeline of current/future events, we are in an advanced stage of Assessment.  Things are about to get bad, but they haven’t just yet. We like to call it a “Green Tree” moment. In Luke 23:31, Jesus said “...if they do these things and act this way when the tree is green, what will happen when the tree is dead and dry?” We see Jesus stating that if we can’t get our priority straight and figure it out when everything is going well, how do we expect to get it right when things get worse?

There have been indicators for years and now we are getting a clearer picture of how to prepare in the upcoming days before the unprecedented event(s) that trigger what we are calling “Phase One”.

Many in the Ekklesia are collaborating around intel from the Holy Spirit, as well as natural sources such as informants within the government, media, and other streams of reliable information. Situational awareness is key and organizing with urgency is paramount.

GOSHEN DEFINED

For conversation’s sake, we’ll look a what a “Goshen” looks like starting with the the smallest version:

  1. Micro Goshen - A place with a small group of people like a single family or residence.

  2. Goshen Communities - A place with a group of homes or residencies that work together as one.

  3. Goshen Cities - A regional effort of multiple communities forming a society. (City of Refuge)

Anything larger than an organized Goshen City would need government, typically statehood.

Goshen qualifiers:

  • Comfort and provision

  • Offers some type of self-sustaining resource

  • Possesses defined property lines

  • Remains secure with defenders

Otherwise it would be categorized as a shelter, bunker, food pantry, storehouse or supply depot, but not Goshen. These places are important and will aid in sheltering in place, but do not afford long-term solutions like Goshen.

Goshen requires self-sustaining resources like water (well, stream, lake, pond), electricity (solar, wind, hydro), food (vegetables/livestock), or something similar. Offering services could also be considered resources such as dental, medical, mechanical, seamstress/tailor, or counseling etc. Any asset that is considered a product or service that is self-sufficient, self-supporting, or self-sustaining is what we are considering a Goshen.

Below is the sequence of events that will shape and mold our Micro Goshen, Goshen Communities and Goshen Cities in the future. The following outline is a map or sequence of events designed to structure our forward progress through hard times. This is a high-level overview that will fit into any region or scenario observing history, human traits and behaviors, and Godly priority. Also, there is much wisdom and knowledge we can utilize regarding strategic planning, scenario prediction, and disaster protocols already authored by reliable agencies and specialized organizations that have been active and available for decades.

Situational Awareness

  • Recognize times & seasons. Listen to God’s warnings and take heed.

  • Renew your mindset. Hard times are coming and things are changing.

  • Respond with urgency. Get prepared and procure supplies NOW!

Supplies & Storage

  • Be responsible. Know the flock you’re responsible for, and for how long.

  • Be rational. Avoid stockpiling luxury items and non-essentials.

  • Be ready. Know that change can occur with little or no warning.

Strategy & Tactics

  • Determine your primary & secondary safe place. Understand your needs.

  • Develop communication protocols. Stay in touch with your network.

  • Devise bug out plan & mobility tactics. Do not rely on automobiles.

AVOIDING PARALYSIS

Here is what we do NOT know with absolute certainty:

  • When will the “Event”(s) occur in your area?

  • To what degree will the damage be there?

  • What and who will be eliminated during the “Event”(s)?

  • What will be the duration of the “Event”(s)?

  • What does our economy look like after the “Event”(s)?

  • Will there be stable civil leadership or government?

Here is what we DO know:

  • Being ready for Phase One at any time means you are as ready as you need to be.

  • We focus on implementing and maintaining Phase One regardless of any of the unknowns.

  • Hoarding or storing what you cannot defend and protect could be lost, stolen, or destroyed.

  • We are Biblically obligated to safeguard Goshen. Most are not trained in security or defense, but we must be a good shepherd. There is an appointed time and place for mercy. (Psalm 144:1)

  • Following Godly priority, principles and protocols will not fail.

  • Being led by the Spirit is our supreme source of life, health, provision, and safety.

THE "EVENT"(S)

Once the “Event”(s) begins, we will know it. Most likely we will have 12-24 hours to mobilize to our determined primary safe place. That time needs to be utilized to mobilize, not prepare. If we wait until the “Event”(s) are in motion to ready ourselves, it will be too late and the door of the “ark” will be closing. If we have heard the Spirit, obeyed and responded according to His leading to the best of our ability, we will be ready for “Phase One”. He will supernaturally provide beyond our planning or humanity (even if we have made some mistakes) if we are walking in OBEDIENCE. Remember: Manna, quail, water, ravens, and all the other miraculous provisions were contingent on obedience. God does the rest.

ASSESSMENT

(Determining the next steps forward)

Remember, we have to assess the situation and consider the risk in order to form any plan of action. We can assume that most of the provisions you stored up are running low, and you need to replenish supplies for your family and flock. The unrest and chaos should have subsided by now and you should be able to begin to venture out of your shelter without as much risk of exposure or danger. Navigate this step carefully.

Things around us could look very differently after Phase 1, so it will may be difficult or even impossible to effectively plan for Phase 2 with any certainty, so a thorough assessment will determine the next steps at this point.  Some areas or regions may remain virtually unaffected, while other areas could resemble a war zone. Depending on the severity and duration of Phase 1, be aware that looting, scavenging, civil unrest, or natural disasters may have drastically reduced the resources available to you.

For situational perspective, consider that no law enforcement may be in place, the economy could have been crippled, the dollar may be destabilized, and things are not "normal" anymore.

In the worst areas, we can assume that any obvious resources will have been seized or plundered by the unfortunate ones who were crazed by fear, became unruly, or desperate. In the event that resources are scarce, you may need to venture further out beyond your place of safety to increase your chances of locating additional provisions, resources, and potential allies.

In other places, there may be an abundance of bounty and you may be able to access resources at will. Some people will have fled, abandoned or perished during Phase 1 and you may find your area rich with unclaimed supplies that cost very little or possibly nothing to secure for the next Phase. Because we do not know the impact of Phase 1, it may me wise to avoid stock-piling and defending resources in advance for Phase 2 that end up being plentiful or even free after the "Event"(s) and Phase 1. These scenarios are virtually impossible to foresee, so an assessment is the only way to guarantee the path forward for most of us.

Most people around you now will have managed to navigate and survive Phase 1 and will be a potential candidate for partnering with for Phase 2. Remain cautious and vigilant of who you trust, align with, and partner with.

Pray and remain led by the Spirit at all times.  â€‹
